We
hope you will enjoy the Outfield news page. First off, we
would like to thank Danny Roberts for running the original
Outfield website for the past 10 + years! As times change
inside the music industry, both Tony and I feel it’s about
time we took a more active role in how The Outfield (and it’s
music) will be portrayed.
The
Outfield has never been a band that sought controversy so
please don’t expect us to start using this website as a platform
to voice our own opinions about matters that don’t concern
us. We both feel there are way too many people (in the music
industry) already doing that! This will always be first and
foremost a website where fans can exchange ‘musical’ conjecture.
Please feel free to send in your views and we will do our
best to rotate such correspondence on a regular basis.
For
now,
John
Latest
News
Here's
a couple of news updates regarding a change of personnel
inside the Outfield camp….
Brent
Bitner (an individual many of you know) has taken over for Danny
Roberts as the
Band's "Ambassador". Brent has a long standing relationship
with the band and is looking forward to being the liaison between
the Outfield and it's many fans from around the world. Brent
has already created various social sites for fans to swap thoughts
and conjecture about the bands music and keep you in contact
with what's happening in the studio, and beyond. We encourage
you to visit those sites and leave us comments and feedback
as we love to hear from you, the fans.
Alan
Jackman...............
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Alan Jackman has
now re joined the Outfield on a permanent basis and is looking
forward to working with John and Tony on the new tracks being
prepared in the studio for release in 2010. John and Tony
had always wanted to pick up the pieces with Alan and feel
that in working together again on the new album they will
re-create the energy of 'Play Deep', 'Bangin' and 'Voices
of Babylon'. (It will also make a lot of AJ fans really happy).
When the Outfield toured between 1998 - 2003 the fans were
continually asking if AJ would ever come back to record with
the guys again. We think it's fair to say that Most fans feel
'this is the way it should be'. We will keep you updated on
a regular basis about their progress from the studio.
August
25th, John and Tony did a live radio interview with Gordon
Beckham of the Chicago White Sox last night. Gordon has
been using Your Love as his own 'walk up' (to bat) music
throughout his career. The guys had a great time on air
and both wish Gordon continued success for the future.
