OFFICIAL
STATEMENT FROM JOHN SPINKS
Hi
Everyone,
Thank you all so much for your kind words of support wishing me
well. Please know that this recent news was a total surprise to
me and my family. Over the past five years I'd been totally focused
on music thinking I'd beaten my illness. Had I not had a precautionary
scan, I would have had no idea of my present condition, albeit I
still look and feel fine? It would appear that the disease is at
an early stage so I'm hoping the doctors can control things with
modern day medicine. It's not in my nature to be negative so I'm
just carrying on without letting this news distract me.
Please know that I'm still working flat out to finish the new album.
I rehearsed with Tony and Alan on Saturday and I spent most of Sunday
finalizing drum mixes with Alan. The record is all but done and
we hope to master the CD inside the next two weeks. It's been a
long journey this past year or so as we've literally written and
recorded a complete new set of songs from those we had when Alan
came back on board. Hand on heart, we all believe this is our strongest
album since 'Play Deep', and we hope you enjoy the new music.
Thanks also for all the support you've given Brent to help raise
the bands profile on all the social sites like Facebook during the
past year. We are forever humbled at having such loyal fans!
On behalf of the three of us, here's to a great 2011 summer !!!
For now,
John
